Izzo Spurns Cavs, Staying at Michigan State

The Cavs search for a head coach will continue, as reports are coming in that Tom Izzo has decided to stay as the head coach at Michigan State.

Izzo was offered the Cavaliers coaching job a week ago, and since then has been reportedly back and forth if he should or should not leave his job with the Spartans.

Sports Time Ohio broke the news about Izzo staying with Michigan State, and now Bernie Smilovitz of WDIV in Detroit is also stating that Izzo will not be leaving as well.

Reports said that if Izzo would have taken the job with the Cavs, he could have made up to $6 million a year as the team’s head coach.

Former New Jersey Nets and New Orleans Hornets coach Byron Scott may be the next on the list for the Cavs, as sources say he met with Cavs General Manager Chris Grant last week.

Mike Woodson, former coach of the Atlanta Hawks, is reportedly also on the Cavs list.
