Cavs and Celtics Game Five Post Game Notes

CAVALIERS NOTES:

• After tonight’s contest, the Cavaliers are now 70-77 (.476) all-time in the playoffs, including 47-27 (.635) at home and 27-14 (.659) at Quicken Loans Arena. The team is now 3-1 in Game 5’s at home in best-of-seven series all-time when the series is tied 2-2. (STATS, Inc./Elias).

• Shaquille O’Neal scored a 2010 playoff-high 21 points on 7-11 (.636) shooting, while also tallying four rebounds, two assists, one steal and a 2010 playoff-high four blocks in 27 minutes. In his last six postseason games, O’Neal is averaging 14.0 points on .552 shooting, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 23.7 minutes per game.

• LeBron James finished with 15 points, six rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 42 minutes. This postseason, James is averaging 29.3 points on .516 shooting, 8.3 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.9 blocks in 41.4 minutes per game.

• Anthony Parker tallied a 2010 postseason-best 14 points on 5-9 (.556) shooting, including 2-5 (.400) from behind the three-point line, and two rebounds in 40 minutes. Parker has now scored in double figures in three consecutive postseason games and is averaging 11.7 points on 12-20 (.600) shooting, while also connecting on 7-13 (.538) shots from long distance in 38.7 minutes per game.

• Off the bench, Anderson Varejao grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to go along with five points, two assists, one steal and one block in 17 minutes.

• With a three-point field goal made tonight in the fourth quarter, Daniel Gibson surpassed Mark Price (56) for 2nd place in three-pointers made in franchise playoff history. He only trails LeBron James, who has 105 three-pointers made in his playoff career with the Cavs.

• Defensively, the Cavaliers had 10 blocks and are averaging a league-leading 7.0 blocks per game in the 2010 playoffs. It was the team’s second game with at least 10 blocks this postseason.

CELTICS NOTES:

• Six Celtics players scored in double figures led by Ray Allen, who had a game-high 25 points on 8-13 (.615) shooting, including 6-9 (.667) from long range, three rebounds, four assists and one steal in 38 minutes.

• Paul Pierce recorded a double-double with 21 points on 9-21 (.429) shooting and 11 rebounds to go along with seven assists and two steals in 42 minutes.

• Kevin Garnett had 18 points on 8-14 (.571) shooting, six rebounds and two blocks in 32 minutes.

• Rajon Rondo added 16 points on 7-12 (.583) shooting, seven assists and one steal in 38 minutes.
