CLEVELAND- This morning NBA center Zydrunas Ilgauskas finally became a Cavalier once again after signing a contract for the remainder of the season this morning which will make him available to play Wednesday when the team travels to New Orleans to take on the Hornets.
Ilgauskas was part of a trade on Feb. 17 in a deal that send him and a draft pick to the Washington Wizards and Antawn Jamison and Sebastian Telfair to the Cavs. After the trade was done the Wizards bought out Ilgauskas of his contract making him a free agent. There were a number of teams that were interested in Ilgauskas, but he made it clear that his intentions were to rejoin the Cavaliers.
Yesterday was the first day that the Cavaliers were able to talk to Ilgauskas about a new contract. This morning both sides where able to agree adding Ilgauskas back to the roster. Now that Ilgauskas is back that means someone must go that is currently on the roster. Likely it will be either Darnell Jackson or Danny Green due to the fact they both do not have guaranteed contract for next season. Sebastian Telfair does have a guaranteed contract for next year so more than likely it will not be him.
