Cavaliers Make It 12 In A Row Beating The Nets 104-97

CLEVELAND- Coming into tonight’s game the Cavaliers have the best record in the NBA at 41-11 as they host the New Jersey Nets who own the worst record at 4-46. Also keep in mind the Cavaliers are hosting the Orlando Magic on Thursday in a TNT match up, so it’s important that the Cavaliers don’t over look the Nets. If they do this could prove to be s long night for them. During this week, Cavaliers LeBron James was named Eastern Conference Player Of The Week for the fifth time this season.

In the first quarter as things got started off, it looked as if the Cavaliers may have fell into that trap of over looking the Net as the Nets got out to an early lead 13-21 with 4:51 left.  Things started to get a little heated toward the end of the first as Zydrunas Ilgauskas was upset at the referee for not calling a foul when he was driving to the basket, and he grabbed at the referee’s shirt to complain and was hit with a technical foul. The Cavaliers did come back to cut the Nets lead to just 1 point, 26-27 at the and of the first. The Cavaliers shot 45.8%. As the second quarter got underway the scoring keep going back and forth as the teams where either tied or with in one or two points of each other. Then the Cavaliers started to go on a run and was up 45-36 with 6:00 minutes left in the half. The Cavaliers fought on and ended the second half with a 55-49 lead at the half. As the third quarter got started the Cavaliers added pressure to the Nets and where able to build up a 10 point lead. The Nets would fight back and and cut the lead back to 6 as the Cavaliers lead 78-72. In he fourth quarter the Cavaliers decided to really put on the pressure as they extended their lead to 17 points as they went up 91-74. The Nets would make a run of their own and bring the game back to within 7 points 100-93 with 1:12 left in the game. Cavaliers hung on to win it with a final score 104-97 to extend their win streak to 12.

LeBron James led the way with 32 points, 12 assist, 3 rebounds and 1 steal. Jawad Williams had 17 points (career High), 3 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 steal. Anderson Varejao had 15 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals. Daniel Gibson had 11 points, 2 assist and 1 rebound.

The Cavaliers next game is Thursday the 11th against the Orlando Magic at the Q. Tip off is 8:00 on TNT.
