
CLEVELAND- Cavaliers guard Delonte West sustained a fractured left ring finger during the Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena against the Lakers. He was evaluated today at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health by Cavaliers Head Team Physician Dr. Richard Parker and hand specialist Dr. Peter Evans. X-Rays have confirmed the fracture. Delonte was listed as Out for tonight’s game in Cleveland vs. the Thunder and he will be day-to-day following that. His finger will be re-evaluated early next week and his status will be updated as appropriate.
The Cavaliers got their series sweep against the L.A. Lakers beating them 97-83. It was not easy for the Cavaliers as they got off to a slow start against the Lakers as they were outscored 27-18 in the first quarter. The Cavaliers did bounce back and stepped up their defense as they hold the LAker to 19 points in both the second and third quarters and outscored them 49-38 and then also outscoring the Lakers again in the fourth quarter giving them the 97-83 win.
Leading the way for the Cavaliers was LeBron James with 37 points, 9 assist, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. Shaquille O’Neal had 13 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. J.J. Hickson had a career high 14 rebounds, 11 points and 1 assist. Anderson Varejao had 11 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist.
During the game Kobe Bryant became the youngest player in NBA history to score 25,ooo points in a career.
