
NEW JERSEY- Cleveland Cavaliers made their way to New Jersey on New Years day to get ready for today’s game against the Nets. The Cavaliers were looking to start off the new year just the way the ended the last year and that is with a win, a win that will extend their winning streak to 7 games. At this point its been noticed across the NBA the Cavaliers are the hottest team right now and every team that faces them must be in their A game in order to have a chance against them.
The Cavaliers got off to a slow start again today as they were outscored 19-26 by the Nets in the first period. But the Cavaliers did bounce back in the second and third periods outscoring the Nets 50-35 giving them an 8 point lead going into the fourth period. In the Fourth both teams would score 25 points giving the Cavaliers the victory over the Nets 94-86 and extending their winning streak to 7 games.
LeBron James led the way with 28 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assist, 2 blocked shots and 1 steal. Mo Williams had 18 points, 3 assist and 2 rebounds. Anderson Varejao had 15 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 blocked shot. Shaquile O’Neal had 12 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot.
The Cavaliers travel back home to take on the Charlotte Bobcats tomorrow at the Q. Tip off is at 6:00.
