WASHINGTON- The Cleveland Cavaliers took their winning streak into Washington to take on the Wizards who were looking to snap their losing streak of their own as they got back a healthy Antwan Jamison. Over the past few years the Wizards have had bad luck when it has come to the injuries. But tonight the tides changed as it was the Cavaliers with the injured key players in center Shaquille O’Neal with a strained shoulder and power forward Anderson Varejao with a hip contusion.
The Cavaliers started the game off in the first period on fire as if they picked up right where they left off scoring 32 points and had a 10 point lead. For the next three periods it wasn’t the same as the Cavaliers were out scored 59-86 which resulted in a 108-91 loss for the Cavaliers. It seemed as if the Wizards were in trouble again after the first period, but thanks to adjustments made by Wizards head coach Flip Saunders, the Wizards offense was able to out run the Cavaliers and their defense stepped up and shut down other key players.
For the Cavaliers LeBron James led the way with a game high 34 points and also had 9 assist and 2 rebounds. Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Jamario Moon and Darnell Jackson all had 10 points. The Cavaliers next game is Friday as they go to Indiana to take on the Pacers. Tip-off is at 7:00
