CLEVELAND- Cleveland Cavaliers are gearing up for the upcoming season by bringing the best talent for the best value as the sign unrestricted free agent Leon Powe to a two year deal.
Although the terms have not been officially released, it is rumored to $855,189 for the first year and $915,852 for the second year of a two year contract according to a source of ESPN.
Powe is recovering from a torn ACL in his knee, but according to doctor reports, Powe is recovering faster than expected and could be ready to go as soon as the NBA All-Star break.
After coming off what Cavaliers fans felt was a disappointing ending to a great run of an NBA Championship, the Cavaliers where quick to take action to better the roster when they traded for NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal. Then following the trade, the Cavaliers did their research and get the value for their money by signing free-agents Anthony Parker, Jamario Moon, Anderson Varejao and now Leon Powe. Also keep in mind the Cavaliers are also considering re-signing Joe Smith.
I for one am very happy to see General Manager Danny Ferry, and Owner Dan Gilbert put the effort that they have into making the Cavaliers a NBA Championship Contender. I hope LeBron James sees it as well.
