CLEVELAND- Every year that LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal have been in the NBA their jerseys have been among the tops in total sales. Now that they will be on the same team sharing the court night in and out, it will be interesting to see who jersey will appear more.
Yes LeBron has always been ahead of Shaquille in sales over the years but there is a chance that the older NBA fans who have been following Shaq could give LeBron a run for his money. No I don’t see Shaq’s jersey out selling LeBron’s but It will be interesting how many of each jerseys will see.
The merchants are really enjoying the acquisition of Shaq, his jersey has been the second most popular jersey selling on NBAStore.com, behind Kobe Bryant’s, with James’ in third. The Cavaliers ranked as the fourth largest market by sales volume last season after the Lakers, Celtics and Knicks, respectively.
On a quick note this is the first time Shaq has gone back to #33 since he left LSU for the NBA Draft. Although If you remember the first cover of Becket He was wearing a computer image of #33 in a Orlando jersey, but before the season started he was in #32.
