Cavs #1 Pick, Christian Eyenga ……Who?

NBA Draft Basketball

LAS VEGAS- That was the big question when Cleveland Cavaliers Drafted guard/forward Christian Eyenga from Congo. Many Cleveland fans including myself was left scratching our heads wondering not only who Christian Eyenga was but why Christian Eyenga? True the 2009 NBA draft didn’t feature dominate talent, but why not a name at least known in the draft.

Eyenga, after being assigned to Cleveland Cavaliers summer league, is very eager to not only show us who he is,but what it is he brings to the Cleveland Cavaliers team. As he gets warmed up in the Summer League he keeps getting better and better. Which is making some people say, maybe he wasn’t such a bad pick after all.

In the third game of the Summer Leagues season against the  Washington Wizards, 6-foot-6, 210 pound Eyenga played for 22:46 minutes going for 7 of 13 from the field and 3 of 3 on free throws, scoring 17 points and 2 rebounds. He was very fluent with moving on the court with a smooth stroke on his shots. He left the court leaving a statement.

Christian Eyenga is going to do his best to show why he was the Cavs #1 pick. I feel he will be another pleasant surprise for not only his coaches and team mate but also the FANS!
