
CLEVELAND- The Cleveland Cavalier have signed free agent guard/forward Anthony Parker to contract in which terms were not disclosed per team and league policy. Parker was introduced by Assistant General Manager Lance Blanks on Monday.
Parker, 34, started 71 of the 80 games he played in for the Toronto Raptors where he averaged 10.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and career highs of 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals in 33 minutes per game. Parker is one of 11 players in the NBA to total at least 750 points, 250 rebounds, 250 assists and and 100 steels during the 2008-09 season.
General Manager Danny Ferry talked saying “Anthony will be a solid addition to our rooster. He is a very good, Intelligent all-around basketball player. Our coaching staff will especially appreciate the good shooting and solid defense that Anthony brings to our team.”
Parker 6-foot-6, 210 pound guard/forward has played six seasons in the NBA where he averaged 10.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in 27.9 minutes per game in 290 regular season games. He spent six years overseas in the Euro Leagues in which he won three Euro League Championships and was named 2005 Euro League MVP. he averaged 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.6 steals in 90 Euro League contest.
